Quarantine date ideas (new couples, too)

quarantine date ideas

Even though you may be spending a lot of time with your significant other, now more than ever, it is important to schedule one-on-one time. Quality over quantity always.

I know this may sound crazy to think about, since most of us are currently in quarantine. But being in the same house or room doesn’t automatically make it quality time. Working from home can sometimes blur the line between personal and business and you may find yourself working a lot throughout the day. Or, you might be on social media a lot or watching a lot of tv since there’s not much else to do. You may think that you don’t need to do anything special now or plan date nights because you’re already together 24/7, literally. But now, more than ever, we need to say our “I love yous” and cook up cute schemes to keep each other in love and…sane.

Here are a few ideas to set the mood:

5. Fancy night IN
Dress up in your going-out outfit and makeup (and make sure he does, too) and meet in one room at a certain time. turn your phones off! Even if it’s only for an hour. or set it only for emergencies. Have dinner (order in so there’s less hassle and stress)  and prepare a few cocktails. Either put on your own music to dance or, stream one of many DSs or clubs that are streaming online. Dancing and laughter are necessary now more than ever. Here’s a couple of my favorites: DNice and Club Quarantine. Check them out!

4. Game night
Whether it’s the PS4, Xbox or you’re mobile, there are many games you can play together, just try to make it one you both enjoy. Don’t get too competitive, either, just have fun, make fun sexy bets and pop an edible or two.

3. Backyard picnic
It may seem kinda lame but pack a picnic, grab a blanket and go to the backyard for a little sun. Or do it at night, when there’s a chance you might see a few stars. Again, turn off the phones for a bit and enjoy each other’s company.

2. Make it a memory night
Go through all your old photo albums and movies, and really drink in just how much you have grown together. Make a few cocktails and you’ll have even more fun! A night of rummaging through memories is also a perfect opportunity to create a new couple’s bucket list, and plan for new memories. Making plans can really boost your mood and give you something to look forward to.

1. Take a walk/bike ride
If allowed in your region, mask up (make sure to double-check mask safety here) and go for a walk or a bike ride around the block. As long as you’re maintaining social-distance from others who don’t live in your household, you should be okay to do so. You know the drill, turn off your phones during this time, hold hands and talk.

What if you don’t live together?

3. Morning Workout date
Get up early and (virtually) meet to work out together. Plan which YouTube (or whatever else) workout you will both follow and get sweaty! If you both have water-resistant phones, hop in the shower together afterwards. Isn’t that a great way to start the day?

2. Fancy movie night in
Dress up like you’re going out on a date and decide on what you both want to eat because you’re ordering the same meal; it’s a simple way to bring you together from afar. Once you start to argue over what you’re going to watch together with Netflix Party Chrome extension, it’ll be just like the old days! Dance together separately by either hosting your own party with both of your friends or join one online. Here’s a couple to get you started: DNice and Club Quarantine.

1. Flirt-a-thon
Sext and video call as much as you can. Basically, use all the technology at your disposal to flirt with your bf/gf! Send each other cute care packages through Amazon to let them know their needs are important to you.

Stay safe, friends!
