How to tell if a guy at work likes you

It’s only natural for crushes to thrive in the workplace, given that you spend a lot of time there. Some of us might even spend more time at work than at home. We build a family environment, or at least a friendly workplace camaraderie. Sometimes, an innocent crush can blossom into a relationship.

According to a survey produced by job site Vault.com, 58% of employees have engaged in a romantic relationship with a colleague. A surprising 72% of those over 50 years old have been romantically involved with a coworker.

But before you ask him out, at least make sure the chances of him saying yes are high. So, how do you figure out if he likes you? Here are a few tips:

Is he constantly sending you messages throughout the day about things that have nothing to do with work?

Does he steal a quick glance when he thinks you’re not looking or when you lock eyes, does he hold eye contact in a weirdly intimate way?

If you see him in the hallways, does he go out of his way to say hello and make small talk? If you’re in meetings together, do you steal his attention without even trying?

Does he find himself at your desk or office a few times throughout the day, and you realize that he talks to you more than anyone else in the office?

Does he have a funny or sweet nickname for you?

It’s rare for people to talk about their personal lives at the workplace but if a guy likes you, he’ll start sharing more about his personal life with you. He’ll be open to talking about his relationships and family, all details that you would normally not share with a casual coworker.

Has he asked you if you are single or has he inquired into the types of people you date?

Does he make eye contact when he’s talking to you? Is he always smiling and joking around when you’re together? Does he lean in when you’re having a conversation? Does he find any excuse to touch you? If you answered yes to all these questions, then he definitely has a crush on you. Once you understand body language, it becomes easier to tell if a guy likes you.

So now that you know whether your coworker likes you or not, the question is, what’s the next move?
