How to keep him interested during quarantine

how to keep him interested

New relationships can be tricky, and with stay-in-place orders still active in most places, it can be difficult to keep the spark alive without seeing each other. So how do you keep a man interested if you can’t physically be with him at the moment? Here are a few tips!

3. Communicate
You’re probably talking everyday but have you taken the time to ask him how he feels? By now, you should know if he is working from home, waiting on unemployment or is an essential worker. If you chat quite a bit, you might also know how his family is doing and more details about his life. But, if you don’t know already, you need to ask him how he is dealing with the change, is he worried about the future of his career? It can be hard for men to open up about their fears but once he feels comfortable enough to talk about his feelings, just listen. Sometimes that’s all we need.

2. Don’t rush things
Be careful not to fall in love with the illusion versus the reality. It can be easy to fall into the habit of calling, texting, and video-calling daily during quarantine. Right now, we’re all reaching out to those around us for companionship and constant reassurance. If it’s a newer relationship, or you’re just casually dating, this can propel your coupledom into overdrive; this may be fun at first but can quickly burn out.

From now on, when you see or speak to each other (through video, of course), make sure that there is a purpose, such as a planned date. Don’t call or text him out of desperation because of the pandemic or fear of losing him because you haven’t heard from him in a couple days.

1. Be his escape
While it’s important to talk to him about his feelings, it is equally important to make sure that you are not making every conversation and virtual encounter about the gravity of our situation.

Try to keep things light, fun, and flirty after you have serious talks. Send memes, cute selfies and videos (no nudes if your relationship isn’t there yet or if you feel uncomfortable) and remember that if it’s meant to be, you will get through these strange and tough times together.
